Ira Kramer, the owner of Diamond Exchange of North Florida, started his career in the jewelry industry in sales. A few years later, he advanced to higher positions, becoming a general manager and a part owner of a small chain of jewelry stores in the Washington, D.C. area. In 1982, he purchased The Diamond Exchange of Maryland, but he was forced to close down the full-service retail store after an armed robbery incident in the spring of 1996. He then changed to a By-Appointment office venue; never giving up his passion for fine jewelry.
He moved to Tallahassee, Fl in 2009, where he opened a small store. But as a single-person operation it was proving to be impossible to work during the covid pandemic, so in 2021 he closed the store and moved to a "By Appointment” office.” Although he is based in Florida, Mr. Kramer still caters to a huge clientele all over the United States and now has over 58 years of experience.
